If you are thinking not to buy a Tesla just because there are not enough charging stations here, you should change your mind. Before Tesla entered the UAE market, we already had 26 destination charging stations here, and after the official launch, we saw a change in the public’s mindset and this is the reason hotels, resorts and shopping malls are installing new charging stations. In this regard, Mall of the Emirates has taken a step to install 9 destination charging stations, so that your trip to shopping would top up your car’s battery and give you free parking along. These destination chargers were installed after the approval from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

The Tesla destination charging stations are situated at the Fashion Dome Valet Parking on the first and second floors which give you 100 km driving range on an hour’s charge.

The CEO and co-founder of Tesla, Elon Musk, stated that the  revolutionary electric cars will hit the roads of UAE in summer 2017. Tesla will install two service centers; one in Dubai (tentative completion in summer 2017) and Abu Dhabi (will be built next year).

The destination charging stations have been installed as part of company’s initiative to improve sustainable practices in the mall infrastructure. The Managing Director, East Region, Property Management, Shopping Malls, at Majid Al Futtaim, Fuad Mansoor Sharaf stated that modernization and sustainability are a critical component of the brand and they look forward to offering clients a novel experience.
