After inducting the Nissan GT-R ‘Premium Edition’ into its fleet recently, the Dubai Police has brought another performance oriented vehicle into its garage, the Nissan Patrol NISMO. The Nissan Patrol NISMO addition to the force came a few weeks after Dubai Police announced their alliance with the Nissan Middle East and Arabian Automobiles / AW Rostamani Group, who handles the distribution for Nissan in Dubai and Northern Emirates.
This partnership brings a safety service that will make the roads safer in Dubai by employing ‘Automated Collision Detection and Smart Response’. The road safety service will keep an eye on collisions and accidents in Dubai and would send a message to Dubai Police’s Department of Transport and Rescue.
Back in 2015 at the Dubai International Motor show, Nissan introduced the SmartCar app which used Etisalat M2M SIM cards to guarantee communications between two vehicles. The new safety service will use this app to make sure Nissan cars communicate with each other and the police on every point.
A huge hit among the Nissan Patrol and Maxima owners, the application lets them control remote vehicle start and air conditioning, the door locks, the horn, headlights and windows.
