A short teaser video of the next-gen Ford Fiesta ST has been released, also confirming the new hot hatchback will make its debut later this week.
We can’t really see the next-gen Ford Fiesta ST in full in the teaser video, but the loud engine noise suggests that it will carry a sturdy powertrain. The existing Ford Fiesta ST is equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine, however, it is rumored that the new model will feature a 1.5-liter Ecoboost three-cylinder unit. The powertrain in the current Fiesta ST produces 197 horsepower, while the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is just 6.9 seconds. The performance and the power ratings will surely be better in the new model.
Talking about the design, the next-gen Fiesta ST will reportedly boast a larger and more aggressive front grille along with new sporty bumpers. Up front, new horizontal lights are likely to be installed, which will make the hatchback appear wider.
The interior will embrace enhanced equipment and up-scale materials. The smaller infotainment display in the current model will be replaced with a larger screen, and the latest Ford SYNC3 will be available too.
The official debut will take place this Friday and the car will go on sale later this year.
