The new 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class compact hatchback is currently in works and has been caught testing wearing a camouflage.
Talking about the design, the automaker previewed the “Aesthetics A” sculpture just last month in Sindelfingen, Germany. It gave the audience a pretty good idea what they can expect from the A-class sedan. The spy shots of the A-Class compact hatchback show that the front profile of the car is pretty much the same as the sedan model.
In terms of size, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class appears similar to the on-going A-Class hatchback, though the wheelbase seems to be a little longer. The increased wheelbase will result in spacious interior and storage space.
At the back, the horizontal taillights make the A-Class hatchback look wider and add to the overall elegant persona of the vehicle. Also, the side mirrors are now positioned on the doors for better visibility.
Reports also indicate that the 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class compact hatchback will ride on the new and revised version of the current MFA (Modular Front-drive Architecture) platform. It will most likely carry an inline-4-cylinder engine mated to a dual-clutch transmission system. The official debut will take place sometime next year, however we don’t have any information of its arrival in the GCC markets.
