A few days back we saw the teaser images of the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT, and now the hot hatchback has finally been introduced at the Chicago Auto Show.

The 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT, also known as the i30 in the European and GCC markets, resembles the 2017 Elantra sedan and is comparatively more aggressive and good looking than the outgoing GT model. It is 61 pounds lighter with 22 percent stiffer body.

The standard equipment on the inside include an 8-inch touch infotainment display with a “floating edge” screen design, while the optional features such as leather seats, dual-zone climate control and a wireless charging facility can be added too. The trunk space measures 55.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, which is large compared to the VW Golf’s 52.7 cubic feet of storage capacity.

Under the hood, the base Elantra GT carries a 2.0L engine pumping out 162 horsepower, while the GT Sport model is equipped with a 1.6L turbocharged unit developing 201 horsepower. Both the units are paired to a six-speed manual gearbox.
