The first Emirates Electric Vehicle Road Trip took a start this Sunday in which a fleet of around dozen electric cars are traveling across seven emirates of the UAE to cover 700km by Wednesday.
Two years ago, a similar event marked success in London, but this year UAE came to the spotlight with aim to flaunt incredible electric vehicle technologies.
The four-day expedition kick-started at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah on Sunday 29th January with a convoy of 10 electric cars including 6 Tesla models X and S vehicles, 3 Renault Zoe models and a Volkswagen Retrofitted Electric car.
The automobiles will transport 40 people from various locations of the UAE until February 1st. On the closing day, we will witness a grand parade and a conference where electric vehicle owners will display an array of other electric cars.
Thanks to its humble benefactor ENGIE, the Emirates Electric Vehicle Road Trip is also bringing three latest electric charging stations at Ras al-Khaimah, Fujairah and Abu Dhabi. The event is dedicated to the cause of creating an eco-friendly, sustainable environment in the UAE conforming to its national agenda of UAE Vision 2021. The tickets are available throughout the course of four days on Emirates EVRT’s web site. Experience the feel of electric cars by joining today.
