Reports from Car and Driver indicate that the 2017 Tokyo Auto Show is going to be pretty exciting for Japanese sports cars fans, as the new Nissan Z concept will be making its first appearance at the show.

The Nissan Z concept will replace the current Nissan 370z coupe once it arrives in the market. According to Car and Driver, there will be three powertrain options in the Nissan Z; a 3.0L V6 engine with 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 unit producing 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque and the range-topping hybrid engine generating 500 horsepower. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 powertrain will be adopted from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport.

The body proportions and size will be like the outgoing Nissan 370z. However, the overall styling especially the front fascia will be more aggressive and modernized than the 370z. The platform underpinning the new Z will be a shortened version of the same platform found in the Infiniti Q60.

Besides the Nissan Z concept, Toyota is reported to introduce the new Supra concept at the show. The 2019 Toyota Supra prototype was spotted a few months back camouflaged and test driving somewhere on the track.
