Four winners of Nissan Playstation GT Academy Program have formed a team to go head to head with other racers in 24H Dubai Series powered by Hankook. Held in the UAE, almost 99 cars battled it out on the field last Wednesday. The cars qualifying this round were announced on Thursday afternoon. The GT Academy program winners entered the series as Team RJN in a Nissan 370Z GT4.
Jann Mardenborough is the first competitor in this series and the winner of 2011 GT Program. He looks forward to sharing a 370Z GT4 with his teammates Ricardo Sanchez, Romain Sarazin and Johnny Guindi. Mardenborough also emerged victorious in Super GT GT300 and Formula 3 series in Japan.
Last year, Sarazin and Sanchez participated in Nissan’s Blancpain GT International Series tournament. Sarazin was the winner of GT Academy series 2015, whereas Sanchez was the winner of 2014 series. Mexican competitor, Guindi recently won the Nissan GT Academy series among 135,000 other competitors.
Madenborough says he already teamed up with Sanchez in the past, but racing with the other two members would be a new experience for him. Team RJN will compete with other 20 cars from the SP3 GT4 class and the tournament can be watched live on the 24H series portal online.
