Making its grand entrance in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Faraday Future’s first electric car FF 91 received 64,124 reservations within 36 hours of the show. The FF 91 with its all wheel drive and a 378-mile range aroused the curiosity of people. However, it has not been disclosed that how many people went for $5,000 priority reservation and how many chose the free standard option.
The brand has been allegedly facing all sorts of troubles from bills, debts to legal charges. Engadget even predicted that Faraday Future will be out of business by February 2017 if conditions won’t improve. As the company didn’t reveal how much it gathered in preordering, it is hard to tell if it could regain the financial stability. As per estimate, if all registrants have opted for the priority booking, the company would’ve made over $320 million. But it is unnatural to assume that everyone went for the priority reservation even it’s refundable.
According to Electrek’s supposition, it is hard to surmise the number of potential buyers and those who registered just for the information sake. How much the FF 91 would cost is still a mystery, however we know that company has plans to start production in 2018.
