By now everyone knows about the Ford Motor Company’s electric car plan to invest $4.5 billion and launch 13 new vehicles by 2021. Recently, the automaker has also announced to build hybrid variants of the Mustang Pony car and the Ford F-150 Pickup truck. These vehicles will become a part of the 13 scheduled to launch within the company’s electric car plan.

Regarding the hybrid powertrain details of Mustang, Ford has not revealed any specific information. We only know that the Mustang hybrid will carry a V8 engine, which will offer amazing power as well as low-end torque.

The Ford F-150 on the other hand, will not just offer an electric engine in addition to the standard Ecoboost and V8 unit, but will also be able to function as a generator on a job site.

Ford has also announced its plan to introduce a battery powered electric SUV, which will offer a range of up to 300 miles and another hybrid electric fully autonomous vehicle, which are expected to arrive by 2021.

These new hybrid variants will be built at the automaker’s facility in Michigan. Previously, the automaker decided to build a new factory in Mexico, but that plan was called off.
