Back in 2012, we got to know that the new Audi Q8 has received a green light for production and just last year, the automaker confirmed that the luxurious Audi Q8 SUV is in works and might debut anytime soon. Now, the automaker has released a teaser image of the vehicle, which gives us a good idea about how the SUV will look like.
Audi has chosen the 2017 Detroit Auto Show to preview the Audi Q8 in the concept form, whereas the production model will arrive sometime in 2018, according to a leaked document. The teaser image shows that the Audi Q8 will boast a bold front fascia with the octagonal singleframe, which looks wider than the current production Q models. In terms of design, it looks somewhat similar to the Maserati Levante.
The automaker has not revealed any powertrain details, but rumors suggest Audi was working toward building an electric crossover, which will compete with Tesla Model X. Possibly the Q8 will be equipped with an electric plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
Audi will disclose more information regarding the Q8 in the coming weeks, as it debut next month at the Detroit Auto Show.
