Mercedes is working on the redesigned G-Class. Though, we have previously seen the spy shots of the standard SUV model as well as the high-performance AMG edition, but this is the first time we received the images of Mercedes G-Class pickup truck model.

On the first look, it may seem as if this is another prototype of the standard SUV model. However, on closer inspection, we could see a sort of horizontal line at the back, which is in fact the top of the truck’s tailgate. The canopy above is just to give an impression that this is just another SUV model.

The current Mercedes G-Class models are available in both single and dual pickup body styles, but they are used for commercial and military purposes. The newly designed G-class pickup will focus more on luxury and will be similar to the Cadillac Escalade EXT.

Compared to the existing G-class, the new model will have a wider body to accommodate the enhanced suspension system, which will improve the performance of the truck both on-road and off-road. Moreover, the body kit will be shorter in size and will extend a lower center of gravity.

It will make its debut in late 2017.
