A few months back, the Czech Republic based automaker introduced the 2017 Skoda Octavia in sedan and wagon forms, and now the company has launched a mid-cycle update for the Octavia RS model.
The front fascia receives a revised wider front grille and updated headlamps, while at the back the new taillights enhance the overall look of the car. The low ride height combined with impressive alloy wheels and dark black trim makes the 2017 Skoda Octavia RS stand apart from the regular model.
On the inside, the Octavia RS features an updated infotainment system with a larger display. Furthermore, it has an interesting application which allows the driver to check remotely if the car’s headlights are on/off and doors are locked/unlocked. It also shows where the driver has parked the car.
Under the hood, the Octavia RS carries a turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission system which produces 230 horsepower 258 pound-feet of torque. Customers can opt for the automatic gearbox for an extra cost. Moreover, a 2.0-liter TDI turbodiesel four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower is also available as an option.
The updated Octavia will go on sale in Europe in the next few weeks. The automaker is yet to announce the pricing details.
