BMW has recently introduced the new 2018 BMW M550i xDrive, which will be the range-topping model for the 5-Series lineup. It is equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, mated to a sporty eight-speed automatic transmission system pumping out 456 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft of torque.

This powertrain allows the 2018 BMW M550i xDrive to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. Moreover, the xDrive system ensures more power is distributed to the rear-wheels. In addition, the power steering system has been specifically tuned for a responsive performance.

Besides a sturdy powertrain, the 2018 BMW M550i xDrive sports an aggressive body kit, which includes huge front bumpers with large air vents, side skirts, rear spoiler and 19-inch alloy wheels. The interior features exclusive sport seats, aluminum pedals, leather upholstery and new floor mats. In terms of technology, it offers the same equipment as the standard 5-series models.

The 2018 BMW M550i xDrive will debut next month at the Detroit Auto Show. However, the pricing details are not confirmed yet. The automaker would uncover more information after the official debut. It is expected to go on sale in spring 2017.
