Ford Motor Company is done building the first examples of 2017 Ford GT and they will soon be delivered to the customers. The car is built at the automaker’s factory in Markham, Ontario, Canada by Multimatic, the racing and engineering division. It was also driven by Ford’s executive vice president, global product development, and chief technical officer, Mr. Raj Nair.
The Ford GT was first introduced in January 2015 at the Detroit Auto Show and entered production two years later. It has also performed well in the recent racing seasons and has won its class at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The 2017 Ford GT boasts a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, which produces 600 horsepower. It features a mid-engine design layout and the body makes heavy use of carbon fiber to keep the weight low and improve the aerodynamics.
The first two year’s production will be limited to only 500 examples and each buyer was chosen through a difficult process, which included answering a questionnaire, and submitting a video explaining why Ford should choose them to buy their exclusive sports car.
The automaker will reveal more information regarding the 2017 Ford GT soon.
