The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has released the list of trucks, SUVs and safest cars for 2017. IIHS awarded 82 new vehicles the top safety picks for 2017 and 38 of them earned a higher rank of “Top Safety Pick+”. Toyota is on the highest spot with 9 of its cars on the list followed by Honda with 5 cars.
These cars were picked after performing a series of tests. The criteria included 5 crash tests and other crash preventing features, such as, automatic braking and an acceptable or good headlight rating.
