The UAE Police have asked motorists to abide the laws and not to over-decorate their cars on UAE National Day on December 2. Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri told the drivers to drive carefully and:
- Do not put up banners or pictures on cars that could obstruct their vision
- Do not sit on the top, bonnet or back of a moving car
- Do not modify your cars’ engines to make them noisier
- Do not paint or spray color on the car or its license plates
- Avoid spraying anything on other cars or bystanders
- Do not hide front and back number plates
- Do not overcrowd the vehicle with passengers
- Do not place flags at the rear of the vehicle
- Do not black outside or rear windows
- Do not change the color of your vehicle
- Do not park on main roads, in bus stops or taxi stands
Anyone found guilty of violating these regulations will have to bear hefty fines and other punishments deemed fit by the court of law. Be a responsible citizen and also advise others to follow the rules.
