Big Boys Toys is a four-day exhibition held in Abu Dhabi from 23rd to 26th November, featuring hi-tech products worth millions from all around the world. This time, audiences witnessed a real-time “Transformers” moment – a robot transforms into BMW in 60 seconds, christened “Antimon” by its makers. This is the highlight of the event with bids starting from $600,000. The highest bidder at the end of the show would be able to take it home. Here’s what it looks like.

This robot is manufactured by Letrons, a Turkish innovative tech company founded by three childhood friends, Turgut Alpagot, Evren Tanrikulu and Levent Erenler. Antimon is the first of its kind built in 8 months; several others are likely to follow. This robot transforms into BMW, but is currently incapable of housing drivers. It is controlled by a remote and can gain speed up to 20km/hr.

The Exhibition Director, Atif Malik, is extremely excited about the prospects presented by Antimon. He believes the gadget is being introduced in the right market where the high net-worth individuals have exotic tastes and the capacity to materialize their fantasies.

According to Letrons, subsequent models will not only feature quicker transformations, but also be made capable of housing drivers and accelerating at higher speeds. Besides the Antimon, the exhibition is likely to have more than 200 products on display.
