The 2017 Land Rover Discovery has arrived at the 2016 LA Auto Show and is all set to rival with the likes of Audi Q7, BMW’s X5, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS.
The Land Rover discovery was originally aimed for drivers preferring ruggedness and phenomenal off-road performance, however, the 2017 model is more about luxury. The seven-seater cabin includes high-end equipment like a Land Rover’s InControl infotainment system, USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity and a 17-speaker Meridian sound system. Conversely, it lacks the Apple Car Play and Android Auto functionality.
Under the hood, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery carries a 3.0L supercharged gasoline V-6 engine that produces 340 horsepower. A 3.0L turbo-diesel mill is also available that creates 254 horsepower. Both the engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of design, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery looks pretty similar to the standard Land Rover SUV. It features LED head lamps, a mesh grille, dual exhaust tips and a rear spoiler.
The price will start at $50,895 (including destination), with the upper trims carrying a higher price tag. The 2017 Land Rover Discovery is expected to go on sale sometime next year.
