Mercedes is planning a mid-cycle facelift for the 2019 C-Class. We can safely deduce this seeing the spyshots that have emerged of two prototypes. The prototypes, one in white and the other in black, were spotted at their headquarters in Germany, and helped shed some light on what enthusiasts should expect from the C-Class in the coming years.
Although Mercedes tried to hide the changes from prying eyes with an all-body camouflage on the white model, the black one only had the front bumper covered. So, what the 2019 C-Class will bring to the table?
Only minor changes, by the looks of it! On the exterior, there are new bumpers that look much fresher than those on the 2015 model, and internal changes have been made to the lights.
From what we’ve noticed, the new headlights will resemble those on the latest E-Class. The interior might get an upgrade with an all-digital instrument cluster, but that seems to be the extent of it.
Under the hood, the C-Class will likely adapt the next generation engines Mercedes plans to roll out with the 2018 S-Class. These engines are expected to bring numerous efficiency improvements, thanks to a modular design, and a new electric motor that will replace the current starter motor and alternator.
