Honda is prepping for the upcoming Super GT racing series and the car it will use is the new Honda NSX-GT. The Honda Acura NSX-GT will replace the previous NSX-GT concept, which was being used by the automaker since past three years.
The Honda NSX-GT will no longer use a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain. Instead, it carries a 2.0-liter turbo-four cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed sequential gearbox. Honda has not revealed the official specs, but we can expect the 2.0L turbo engine to create at least 590 horsepower.
The total weight of the car will definitely be greater than 1,020 kilograms (approximately 2,249 pounds), since that is the minimum weight requirement to compete in the GT500 class.
Talking about the design, the Acura NSX-GT sports a really aggressive persona featuring a sporty front bumper, huge front splitter, massive side sills, sharp head lamps, red Honda badging and a dominating front grille.
In the previous GT Racing series, Honda performed really well. The original NSX has won three championships in total. Later, it was replaced by the HSV-010, which also won the championship in 2010.
Tune into Super GT racing series in the next few days to see the Honda NSX-GT in action.
