The all-wheel drive Dodge Challenger GT might be arriving soon with a new powertrain and improved fuel economy ratings. Although, Dodge has not confirmed its plans about it, but EPA website confirms it.
The EPA website has listed 2017 Dodge Challenger GT (AWD) having a fuel economy of 18 mpg city, 27 highway and 21 combined. The regular 2017 Dodge Challenger is also there with the same powertrain but a slightly lower combined fuel economy of 23 mpg.
The automaker is expected to launch an all-wheel drive Dodge Challenger GT this fall with an exclusive V6 powertrain capable of producing up to 305 horsepower and 268 lb.-ft of torque. The Challenger will no longer use a V8 engine due to some torque limitation and inefficient packaging.
We have already seen the Dodge Challenger GT in the concept form, last year at the SEMA Auto show featuring a wider body structure. Nevertheless, we can’t confirm if the production model will also be sporting larger body design.
The automaker has not yet disclosed any pricing details and when the all-wheel drive Dodge Challenger GT will make its debut.
