A few weeks back we got to know that the Apples Project Titan is getting a reboot, as the California based tech giant is shifting its focus from developing a fully-autonomous car to constructing just a software program to aid in autonomous driving.

Recently, Apple also hired Dan Dodge, the ex-founder and chief executive of the QNX Software System, who was primarily involved in producing operating systems to be used in cars, mobiles and other devices. A Bloomberg report also mentions that Apple hired several more QNX engineers recently and is supposedly working full-time to develop an autonomous driving system. Additionally, Apple is also opening an R&D facility in Ottawa near the QNX’s headquarters.

Although, Apple officials have declined to comment anything about the Apples Project Titan, but we believe that the plan to construct an autonomous car has been dropped due to some technical delays. Thus, instead of closing down the project, Apple has decided to change its game plan and will now invest in building an advanced software tool, which can be used in the new autonomous cars.

Reports suggest that the project leaders have a deadline till late 2017 to produce a working software program.
