The spy shots of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz pickup truck surfaced a few months back and although the truck was disguised heavily, we got a pretty good idea how it would look like. We also found out that it will be based on the latest Nissan NP300 Navara platform.
Fans are busy deciding what the new 2018 Mercedes-Benz pickup truck will be called. Some say it will be named ‘GLT’ or maybe ‘X-Class’. Nevertheless, we would find out every bit of information when the truck finally makes its debut on October 25th at an art gallery in Stockholm, Sweden.
Comparing the Mercedes-Benz pickup with some mainstream Toyota and Nissan trucks, it is obvious that the Mercedes pickup will be more luxurious and loaded with some high-end and latest amenities. It will be built at Nissan’s factory in Barcelona, Spain and also at Renault plant in Cordoba, Argentina.
We have no details about the powertrain. Maybe a four or a six cylinder engine will be available in both diesel and petrol options. This would be the German automaker’s first ever light-truck, so stay tuned and head over to Mercedes official website on October 25th to view the livestream of the revealing ceremony.
