Ford Performance has confirmed that they are making a new set of upgrades for the Ford Focus RS’s 2.3-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost that will make the hot hatch more powerful.

The new Ford Focus RS is not a slow car by any means. The 2.3-liter turbo engine churns out 350 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, distributed among all the four wheels. The RS accelerates from 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds. For a vehicle of Ford Focus RS’s weight, size and class these statistics are pretty exciting. However, there are always those speed enthusiasts who want an extra oomph to their rides.

Ford has not yet revealed any details about the upgraded package’s availability, its price and power boost, but looking at the recently launched upgrade to the Ford Mustang EcoBoost, we can get some hints. The $699 upgrade to the Mustang gets you a 25 hp, 70 lb-ft of torque, fully guaranteed by the manufacturer.

You can get your Ford Focus RS tuned from places like Hennessey Performance, but that will end up voiding your warranty. The upgrades from the ford performance however, are factory-certified and will not affect the warranty just like the warranty backed Mountune kit available across the UK that adds approximately 25 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of peak torque.

Ford Performance will reveal more details on the matter.
