Smart Response is the first of its kind accident alert technology, which will be made accessible to motorists owning new Nissan Patrol and Nissan Maxima. It was decided during Gitex where Nissan and Dubai Police signed the agreement in the presence of Lt General Khamis Mattar Al Muzainah, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, and Samir Cherfan, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East. Other dignitaries included Michel Ayat, CEO of Arabian Automobiles Co., Nissan authorised dealer in Dubai and northern emirates, and Ivan Mishanin, CEO of Bright Box Middle East.
Smart Response would use Nissan’s SmartCar app to detect rapid deceleration or unavoidable collision and would warn Dubai Police for immediate help to the casualties. Before dispatching the emergency response team, the operator would call to the driver to confirm the collision. If the driver won’t response, the team will run anyway to the last known location.
Lt Gen Al Muzainah said: “Dubai Police employs the latest technologies and innovations to ensure the highest level of security and safety in the community, thus, bringing happiness to all citizens. Dubai Police operates under a clear strategy which believes in the future and in providing professional and effective security services to contribute in making Dubai as the safest place in the world.”
Cherfan commented: “Nissan and Dubai Police continue to work together to pioneer in passenger and vehicle safety to ensure drivers can benefit from the latest global technical innovation. Vehicle safety is of utmost importance to us but sometimes, despite our best intentions, accidents do happen and it is imperative that emergency assistance be made available without hindrance.”
Other smart services offered through Nissan’s SmartCar application encompass remote start of the engine and air condition system, car locking and unlocking, car’s location tracking in real-time and more.
