The new 2017 Toyota Prius Prime is scheduled to hit the dealerships this fall with a price tag of $27,100. Toyota points out that it qualifies for a $4,500 federal tax credit, so saving you some hard earned money.

The 2017 Toyota Prius Prime boasts 25 miles electric range. It enabled it to beat some of its competitors including the Ford C-Max and Fusion Energi. Talking about the fuel economy, the official EPA estimates state that the 2017 Prius Prime offers 55 mpg city, 53 mpg highway and 54 mpg combined. Being a plug-in hybrid model, it extends a rating of 124 MPGe in the EV mode.

Under the hood, the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime carries a 1.8L four cylinder engine paired with electric motors producing a total of 121 horsepower. On the inside, the Prime features a large 11.6-inch touch screen display with Bluetooth connectivity, Toyota Entune Apps and a navigation system. A charging pad and USB port are also available.

The Prius Prime will be available in 3 trim levels. The base model which starts at $27,100, Prius Prime Premium which will cost $28,800 and the range topping Advanced trim with a price of $33,100.
