The German automaker previewed its latest BMW Concept X2 crossover at the 2016 Paris Auto Show along with other new vehicles including BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo and the new BMW i3.

The BMW Concept X2 boasts coupe elements similar to the X1 model. However, it features larger wheels and is built on a longer wheelbase. The stretched roofline adds an overall sporty nature to the BMW Concept X2.

The front fascia incorporates a newly designed kidney-shaped grille, which has been flipped upside down and is not connected to the head lamps anymore. The front bumper features an expressive design with a large front splitter. Towards the back, the rear bumper extends a bulky design with dual exhaust tips.

The automaker has stated that the BMW Concept X2 crossover will be a front-wheel drive vehicle and would be available in 1.5L and 2.0L engine options. A turbocharged engine might also be available considering the X2 concept crossover rides on X1’s wheelbase.

A production model of the sporty X2 concept crossover might arrive sometime in 2018. We believe a sportier model with improved specifications would be unveiled in the future too.
