A few months back, KIA released a hamster commercial which gave us a hint that the automaker is planning to introduce a new turbocharged variant of KIA Soul. Now the automaker has finally previewed a new model dubbed as the KIA Soul SX at the 2016 Paris Auto Show.
The KIA Soul SX packs a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder that produces up to 201 horsepower and is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission system. The automaker claims that the KIA Soul SX will be capable of going from 0 to 62 mph in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 124 mph.
Besides powertrain enhancements, the KIA Soul SX receives some exterior upgrades too. It features a large front bumper, wider side sills and an aggressive front grille. The wheels are 10 spoke 18-inch alloys with red accents. At the back, the Soul SX boasts dual exhaust tips. On the inside, it extends a black leather interior with orange stitching.
The automaker is taking orders for the Souls SX, however this is the European model. The US-spec version of the hatchback is still a mystery, but we might see in the near future.
