The latest addition to the company’s EV lineup, the Tesla Model S P100D lives up to expectations and is in the process of setting several records. With Ludicrous Mode, the car can reach to 60mph in just 2.5 seconds, making it the third fastest production car in the world.
The first two spots belong to LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder, both limited edition cars no longer in production. This means the Tesla Model S P100D with Ludicrous mode actually gets the top spot for fastest production car that can still be bought new!
Comparing the electric car further, the LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder are sporty two seaters, while the all-electric AWD Tesla Model S P100D is a family car – it can seat 5 adults and 2 children and offers ample luggage space.
Equipped with a 100 kWh battery, the Model S P100D has an estimated range of 315 miles on the EPA cycle, which makes it the longest range EV. The same 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack is also available for the Model X, which means the world’s quickest SUV gets even quicker. The Model X P100D (all-electric, 7-seater) with Ludicrous Mode can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds and has an estimated range of 289 miles on the EPA cycle.
Both the Model S and Model X are equipped with advanced safety features enjoying high ratings from NHTSA.
