The 2017 Civic hatchback was scheduled to debut at the 2016 Paris Auto Show on 29th September, but the automaker decided to unveil it earlier to make the Civic fans happy.
The 2017 Civic hatchback is based on 10th-generation Civic platform and will be assembled in United Kingdom at the automaker’s Swindon plant. It will be accessible in 5 trim levels; LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Sport Touring edition. The Civic hatchback will be launched with just one engine option with two outputs.
The powertrain will be the same turbocharged 1.5-litre inline-4 cylinder, which is present in the Civic Coupe and Civic Sedan models. It will be capable of producing up to 174 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft torque in the LX, EX and EX-L variants and 180 horsepower and 162 lb-ft torque in the Sport and Sport Touring models.
In future, Honda will surely add more engine options, plus we shall most likely see a new Si and Type R models soon. The Si and Type R are expected to carry a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-4 cylinder mill with 305 horsepower.
The 2017 Civic hatchback will arrive at the dealerships in the US in the fall of 2016.
