The Aston Martin DB11 convertible is primed for launch in 2018. The British automaker has confirmed that the convertible version of the popular DB11 will be called Volante and also posted three images on Facebook earlier this week.

The pictures live up to expectations – the convertible is just as beautiful as the coupe, which dazzled the world earlier this year at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The coupe was the long awaited successor to the popular DB9.

The front and rear ends of Aston Martin DB11 convertible resemble the coupe. The folding soft top is the only major difference we could note in the pictures. A script on the doors and trunk reads “opening Spring 2018”.

The Volante will be powered by the same engine as its sibling i.e. a 4.3 litre twin-turbo V12 which produces 600 bph and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that powers the rear wheels.

The convertible is also likely to be heavier than the 1,800 kg coupe meaning the 0-62 mph time will go up to around 4.3 seconds. With a top speed of approximately 200 mph, the Aston Martin DB11 convertible will be one of the fastest convertibles on road.

The production version of the Aston Martin DB11 convertible will probably look different from these initial pictures, but a year to launch date gives the automaker plenty of time to polish up and deliver up to the expectations of fans and customers.
