The Volvo V90 has already been enjoying a remarkable position in the market, however, the automaker has decided to push the bar even higher. Volvo has introduced a new and more rugged variant which will be called Volvo V90 Cross Country.
The prototype of Volvo V90 Cross Country was recently caught testing somewhere in Spain, but it was disguised. However, the automaker has now released a teaser video, which confirms that this mid-size luxury wagon is going to hit the dealerships very soon.
Since the prototype model was heavily camouflaged we couldn’t get healthy information out of it. Nevertheless, it is clear that the new Cross Country will boast a raised height, which implies improved off-roading ability. All the Volvo V90 Cross Country models will extend a standard four-wheel drive system.
The powertrain will most probably be the same as regular V90, which is a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-4 cylinder unit. The range-topping T8 trim would be carrying a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-4 cylinder engine mated to an electric motor.
The automaker has confirmed that the Volvo V90 Cross Country will be revealed in mid-September. It is most likely to go on sale next year in the United States as a 2018 model.
