The jaw dropping technological developments continue to galore in the automotive world. In a ground breaking advancement, the new Audis will count down to the traffic light turning green enabling you to employ your idle time for more enjoyable options. This is one of the features of the new vehicle to infrastructure communication (V2I ) technology slated to be incorporated in some of the 2017 Audi rides.
Drivers will be intimated about the waiting time at the traffic signals and the vehicle will be exchanging information with the infrastructure in vicinity resulting in a safer and user friendly driving experience.
The traffic management systems will get an interface with the vehicle to infrastructure V2I enabling drivers to keep a track of the traffic signals in their path. Similarly, drivers can have better information about the toll plazas as well as parking lots for easier accessibility and planning. Going forward, the development is likely to address traffic congestion problems on roads through smart signals.
The V2I tech will be offered in Audi’s 2017 Q7, A4 Allroad and A4 models. The system will work in a few cities which will be announced by Audi at a later stage. We expect further improvements to this technology by other car makers for our collective benefit.
