Massive wheels on a Mercedes were recently spied testing giving rise to speculations that the next series Mercedes AMG E63 Estate is on the cards. It seems that the Audi RS6 Avant is in for a close competition.
The Mercedes AMG E63 Estate was spied during a test drive in Europe. The noticeable thing about the exterior is the gigantic fenders entailing hugely wide wheels being wrapped in low profile tyres. The ride has an aggressive outlook from the rear and the appearance looks inspired from that of the Audi’s RS6 wagon.
Rumours have it that the powertrain of the sportier E63 S trim will comprise of an AMG twin turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 engine yielding a power of 603 horses and 627 pound feet of torque hooked up to a 9-speed automatic transmission. It will be having a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 3.5 seconds. All trims will be all wheel driven. The standard version will deliver 563 horsepower and a torque of 553 pound feet.
Another interesting facet of the spied Mercedes AMG E63 Estate is the speculations about it being the black series model. This is highly unlikely though, as Black series has neither been launched that early in any product’s life cycle by Mercedes nor does any black series model exist having more than four doors till now.
We will be certain soon, as E63 sedan is slated to debut at the Paris Motor Show late next month.
