Now opting for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in your Hyundai is as easy as one two three. The South Korean automotive manufacturer has expanded the list of models which can upgrade to the Android Auto as well as the Apple CarPlay.

Hyundai announced in May that some of its models can be retrofitted to support smartphone connectivity through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay via a DIY process. Now four more models have been added to the DIY upgradable vehicles list. These vehicles include 2016 Sonata Hybrid, 2016 Veloster, 2016 Sonata Plug-In Hybrid and 2015-2016 Azera.

The procedure for the smartphone connectivity system upgrade is pretty simple. All the customers need to do is to visit MyHyundai.com along with the SD card of the navigation system and the vehicle identification number (VIN). The owners need to follow the instructions guiding them through the entire activity.

The actual upgrade and installation process takes about 40 minutes, but it might take one to three hours for downloading the upgrade depending upon the bandwidth of the internet connection. It should be noted that SD card required for the upgrade; USB stick will not be compatible.
