Al Tayer Group, the Middle East business group with a diversified portfolio, donated 10 ambulances to Emirates Red Crescent. The purpose of the donation is to help improve the capabilities of the health sector in the country.
The donator sent 10 units of Ford E-350 DRW to Horton Emergency Vehicles in Ohio (USA) to customise them for ambulances. The interiors have been outfitted with advanced composite materials that are resistant to water, rot, mould and fungus. Such materials have been previously used only in aircraft or aerospace applications.
The ambulances also feature the Horton Occupant Protection System which comprises advanced restraints, advanced head protection, tubular air bags, and head curtain bags. The system protects medical attendants and other occupants in the event of a roll over collision.
The donation is the most recent in a number of activities carried out by Al Tayer Group under the umbrella of corporate social responsibility. Another such event was the creation of the world’s longest painting (recorded by Guinness World Records). Around 20,000 children and 4,000 adults participated in the activity, which was co-sponsored by Dubai Autism Centre and took 8 months to complete.
Other donations by Al Tayer Group include two Ford Mustang cars given to Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services to function as First Responder vehicles.
Al Tayer Group was established in 1979 and represents Jaguar, Land Rover, Ferrari, Maserati, Ford and Lincoln in the region.
