The Bugatti Chiron and Bugatti Vision GT one-off models have been acquired by a Saudi Prince, a well known Bugatti collector, before their double appearance at a number of motoring events. Prince Badr bin Saud purchased the Bugatti Chiron and Vision GT at an as yet undisclosed price.
Bugatti plans to showcase both the Bugatti Vision GT concept car and the Chiron show car together at the Monterey Car Week, at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The Vision GT concept car was designed for the PlayStation game Gran Turismo 6 and premiered at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Strongly inspired by the Type 5 Bugatti (victorious at LeMans in 1937 and 1939), the Bugatti engineers spent 6 months working on aerodynamics to develop a racecar with outrageous performance power. Full details of the car’s mechanics are not available yet, but we know it features a W16 engine and is expected to reach a top speed of over 250 mph.
The Bugatti Chiron also has the newly developed W16 engine and boasts 1,500 bhps of power and 1,600 Nm torque, thanks to the newly developed turbocharger. 200 units of the Chiron have already been sold out worldwide, and sales are expected to go up after the double appearances.
