Although not a usual suspect, Keating will be celebrating its decade old entry in to the supercar business by the launch of a new sports car named Keating Berus. The new car will be conforming to the Keating’s existing philosophy of adrenaline pumping driving experience with less focus on the luxury.
The name gets its inspiration from a venomous snake known as Vipera Berus. The same is reflected on the front where headlights resemble the snake’s eyes and the front bumper masquerades as its fangs.
The company is based in the town of Bolton, England and started the supercar business by introducing TKR in July, 2006. The ride was officially launched at the 2006 London Motor Show and subsequently recorded a top speed of about 260.1 mph showing the company’s expertise in manufacturing hyper cars.
The Keating Berus will be powered by a yet to be disclosed V8 engine supplied by General Motors. The car will be accessible in 3 versions, with the base version generating 650 horsepower. There will also be a twin turbocharged mill churning out a whooping 2,000 horses. The last will be an electric variant pumping out 400 horsepower with a torque of about 1000 lb-ft. Keating promises a 0 to 60 mph ramping time of 2.4 seconds with a top speed of over 230 mph.
It will be exhilarating to see this 2,000 bhp monster at the 2017 Top Marques Monaco next spring.
