The Audi SQ7 made a splash during its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and certainly thrilled fans with its appearance in the latest Captain America sequel. Power chasers will be buzzed to learn that the hottest new SUV on the block is now open for booking in the UK, with deliveries expected in August this year.

The Audi SQ7 is the first in the Q7 series to be favoured with an S badge, an honour previously held only by the SQ5, which was launched in 2013. It packs an all new 4.0 litre V8 turbocharged diesel engine and an electric powered compressor EPC added to get rid of the turbo lag at startup or low rpm.

Audi claims the SQ7 to be the fastest and most powerful diesel SUV and the lightest in its class (enabling to reach 00 kph in just 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 250 kph). The lighter body also makes for greater efficiency – the Audi SQ7 boasts CO2 emissions of 190 g/km and a fuel economy of 7.4 l/100 km.

The standard version includes Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, adaptive air suspension, active sound exhaust system and rear view camera. The optional equipment consists of a driving dynamics package which comes with sport differential, electromechanical active roll stabilization and all wheel steering.

The Audi SQ7 is priced at £70,970 in the UK. The automaker has not yet revealed pricing for other regions.
