The BMW Qatar lineup has just got powered up with the addition of two new sports models – The BMW M4 GTS and the BMW M2. Representatives from Alfardan Automobiles, BMW official distributors in Qatar, said that the new models are an exciting mix of race-car level performance and classic BMW design.
The special edition BMW M4 GTS is limited to only 700 units to go around the globe. The public response has been quite exciting given that the M4 GTS was voted “2015 Sports Car of the Year” in the “Serial Production Coupes” category by readers of the “Auto Bild Sportscar” magazine.
The sporty limited edition coupe proved its performance with a lap time of 7:28 minutes on the Nurburgring-Nordschleife. It is powered by a 3.0L 6-cylinder petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo Technology and has an output of 368 kW/500 hp. The lightweight design was made possible with extensive use of aluminium, carbon fibre and other composite materials. The BMW M4 GTS also has the distinction of being the first serial production vehicle to have innovative water injection. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds with an impressive top speed of 305 km/h.
On the other hand, the BMW M2 Coupe made its high profile world debut in Detroit in January this year. Its entry into Qatar was no less spectacular – being the “Official MotoGP Safety Car” for this year. The racy sports car is powered by an inline 3.0L 6-cylinder engine, also featuring M TwinPower Turbo technology. The 370 hp output, low point of gravity and lightweight design make it an agile and high-performance coupe.
The addition of the two high performance coupes to the BMW Qatar lineup will no doubt help the brand to make further inroads into the luxury car market in the region.
