The Mercedes CLS cannot be considered old by any stretch of imagination, but the curtains are about to be pulled on the ride introduced in 2011. The CLS will have one last hurrah, as Mercedes is preparing to launch a final special edition.

As per the press release from the company, the Mercedes CLS Final Edition will only be offered in the European markets. In fact, according to some revealed details, the special edition is a spec update instead of being a standalone model. Some of the gear in the special edition includes AMG Line exterior and interior trim, sunroof, tinted windows, multi contour leather seats, 19-inch light alloy wheels, a subtle aero kit, a diamond-pattern grille, a dual-pipe exhaust system with squared-off tips and a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Customers will be paying about 8,200 Euros extra for the special edition model.

The unveiling of this special edition will be giving way to the launch of a new generation CLS which will most likely be based on the current E’s platform. Mercedes has so far kept mum on this, but reports suggest that we will be seeing the new generation Mercedes CLS late next year or in the early 2018.

We just can’t wait to see the baton pass forward.
