The first 1,000 Aston Martin DB 11 vehicles to roll out of the production line will be personally inspected by the CEO Andy Palmer. They will have the distinction of having an inspection plate bearing his signature on the engine.

Andy Palmer is well known for his hands-on management approach. He has several years of experience in the engineering departments of the Rover Group and Nissan. His announcement to personally inspect the first 1,000 Aston Martin DB 11 vehicles demonstrates his commitment to excellence and the value of the DB 11 in Aston Martin’s line-up.

The DB 11 has the distinction of having a new Aston Martin engine. The luxury supercar is being manufactured at the Aston Martin Engine Plant (AMEP) in Cologne, Germany. The car’s 5.2L twin-turbo V12 engine pumps out 608 PS and 700 Nm of torque making the DB 11 the most powerful production model of the DB series. It can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 200 mph.

The AMEP is a 12,500 sq metre production facility dedicated for Aston Martin power plants. The V12 engine takes 8 hours for manufacturing before undergoing stringent testing procedures. It is then shipped to Aston Martin Headquarters in Gaydon.

The Aston Martin DB 11 is expected to reach buyers by September this year and 1,400 orders have already been placed.
