The Japanese automaker has tweaked its 2017 Mazda 3 edition and added a new technology to improve the driving quality. The updated Mazda 3 is only accessible in Japan right now where it is sold under Axela nameplate. It is widely believed that the United States release will incorporate the same changes as well.

The main hallmark of the new 2017 Mazda 3 is the introduction of G-Vectoring Control technology. Already introduced as a part of new package under Skyactiv-Vehicle Dynamics tech, it is slated to regulate car constituents like engine, chassis, transmission and body, resulting in an improved driving experience for the motorists.

Digging into the details, the technology is designed to improve chassis performance through engine manipulation. The vertical load on each axle is managed through engine control with reference to the steering inputs. This results in improved handling and increased stability on bumpy roads.

The exterior gets minor adjustments like new headlights based on LED technology, a modified grill and new surfacing at the rear bumper. The engine specs will remain the same. Customers will get a standard 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine generating 155 horsepower. Those desiring more power can opt for a 2.5 litre churning out 184 horsepower.

We will have to live without the hot hatch Mazdaspeed, as the variant will not be joining the offered lineup in 2017. The 2017 Mazda 3 is expected to arrive in the last quarter of this year.
