Dubai Police once again demonstrate its commitment to road safety and citizen-centric approach with a smart app for accident reporting.
The app, which is simple and easy to use, was used by around 881 motorists in Dubai during the holy month of Ramadan. It has been designed keeping in mind the stressful circumstances of even minor accidents and prompts users to enter basic information about the accident including vehicle type, driving license number, the location of the accident and other related information.
The output of the app is a police report which is received within minutes of entering the accident information in the device. The police report can then be used for insurance related documentation. The Smart App for Accident Reporting makes it convenient and easy for motorists to report minor accidents on-the-spot from their personal devices.
Another facet of the app is the tracking and monitoring of such accidents. The “Accidents Now” feature on the app allows motorists to receive voice and written messages regarding traffic conditions. The app can alert them about locations of accidents and suggest alternate routes so to avoid congested areas. The information can also be viewed on a map.
Dubai Police strongly encourage the public to use the app, which has the potential to reduce accidents and save commuting time.
