Meet the new Rolls Royce Phantom slated to be released in 2018. The snap from the factory has been made public by Rolls Royce along with an assertion that the ride is on schedule to hit the roads sometime in 2018. It will be the eighth generation upgrade of Phantom, which will replace the current Phantom Series II.

The hallmark of the new Phantom will be a newly developed space frame chassis. This will then become an integral part of all the future Rolls Royce cars. The design will enable the 2.5 Ton new Phantom to lose some of its weight, but the structural rigidity of the flex or chassis will remain intact. The dynamics and efficiency will stand improved owing to this lighter new chassis with later being a regulatory requirement for new cars as well.

It is widely believed that the new Rolls Royce Phantom will only be available in the Saloon form as other versions like Coupe and Drophead have not attracted significant demand. Mystery remains around the engine specifications of this new British wheeler, as it can either be a modified 6.75-litre V12 or a customised 6.6-litre V12 from Rolls Royce Dawn.

With the demand for existing Phantom still going quite strong, it may be a tiresome long wait for the most luxurious Rolls Royce ever on this planet.
