The new Technical Centre for Jaguar Land Rover SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) has opened near Coventry, in the heart of the British Midlands. The £20 million facility will be the headquarters for SVO and covers an area of 20,000 m2.

The Special Vehicle Operations is a specialist division of the luxury car manufacturer which was established in June 2014 to cater to vehicle personalization, classic car programmes and branded goods. The new Technical Centre for Jaguar Land Rover SVO is a significant milestone in the development of the division and is manned by about 200 skilled employees.

The new Technical Center comprises four zones for manufacturing, paint, technical and customer commissioning and presentation. The innovative facility has been inspired by a Formula 1 engineering centre and boasts an eco-friendly paint shop and custom-built commissioning suite.

The SVO’s new Technical Centre will also give momentum to the new Vehicle Personalisation programmes by Jaguar Land Rover – the aim of which is to take customer involvement in vehicle personalization to a whole new level. Customers will be able to visit the Technical Centre’s Bespoke Commissioning Suite to personally select the wide array of customizable options for their Jaguars, assisted by member of the Design Team.

Furthermore, customers visiting the Technical Centre will have the opportunity to experience exquisite cuisine prepared by Michelin-starred Chef Graham Edwards.
