RSA announced an updated motor insurance policy on Sunday. One of the hallmarks of the new policy is the unprecedented taxi fare insurance coverage for its customers.

A policy booklet has been compiled and will now be provided to the customers encompassing all policy statements and guidelines for the easy understanding of the RSA insurance customers. It includes issues like exclusions, difference between its comprehensive and executive covers as well as exclusions.

Some additional covers have also been introduced under ‘enhanced motor protection’.  The taxi fare coverage for unfit vehicles has been included here. In the event the insured vehicle is not roadworthy, the taxi fare can be claimed from the insurance company.

Moreover, the lock replacement limit has been increased to Dh7,500 and Dh5,000 under the executive and comprehensive policies respectively. This now includes boot lock, car lock transmitter, door lock, ignition and steering lock. In the case of any accident or theft, the coverage for the loss of personal items is Dh7,500 and Dh5,000 for the executive and comprehensive policy respectively.

The RSA believes that the new policy is customer centric and will facilitate the customers about their due rights and privileges, while dealing with the insurance company.
