The cars can now move sideways for parking in to a parallel parking place owing to an interesting Canadian invention of omni capable wheels. These new wheels are known as Liddiard wheels named after their Canadian inventor, William Liddiard who performed this innovation indigenously. After developing the prototype, he fitted these wheels on Toyota Echo, which happens to be his own car.

Now the car will be able to move side by side replicating a crab like movement. More interestingly, the omni capable wheels can also be rotated in opposite directions enabling the car to spin around mirroring the tank maneuvers. Unlike prior similar developments in this area, William Liddiard wheels stand out, as they do not require any modification or customization of the car. They can be easily mounted on any car without requiring any redesigning whatsoever.

William Liddiard has also uploaded a clip of his innovation on YouTube. According to him, the wheels are made to take stupendous amounts of beating without compromising their performance. Moreover, the hazardous weather and tough road conditions would not have much significant effect on these wheels, as per their inventor.
