The Americans have been won over by the Tech firms and now they are showing more faith than ever on these firms when it comes to developing the cognitive abilities of self driving cars. This was revealed in a survey performed to gauge the preferred liking of the Americans for future development of self driving cars.
AlixPartners, which is an automotive consulting firm, interviewed in excess of 1,500 people in the age bracket of 18 to 65 to gain an insight about their choices of self driving cars. An overwhelming majority of the respondents (about 71 percent) stated their preference for a self driving vehicle. When asked about the prospective programmers of the self driving software, 41 percent chose Silicon Valley experts, while 26 percent opted for the Japanese automakers. Finally, 17 percent were interested in the Detroit’s big three for software development of self driving vehicles.
This research will contribute substantially in setting the pace and direction for the future self driving cars. So far we have not witnessed a significant collaboration between the tech firms and traditional automotive manufacturing companies for developing self driven vehicles.
Now we seem to know that the Americans want their Smart Cars pretty much the way like their Smartphones.
